  9.  o 4mb ram (8mb recommended)

  14. Loading Instructions:
  15.  
  16.  o To run WOTW from the CD on an AGA Amiga, double-click the AWEB_AGA icon,
  17.    this will load AWeb on a 64 colour PAL hi-res laced screen (which may 
  18.    flicker on some monitors).  
  19.  
  20.  o If you have a CyberGFX equipped Amiga, double-click the AWEB_CYBERGFX icon.
  21.    This will run WOTW from the CD on your workbench screen.
  22.  
  23.  o To use your own screen-modes and preferences, you must double-click the
  24.    INSTALL icon to install AWeb to your hard drive.
  25.  
  26. Notes:

  28.  o To read the Aweb purchasing information, hit the HELP key (recommended).
  29.  
  30.  o WOTW is supplied with many GIF anims, to view them you must use a 
  31.    different web browser, such as IBrowse.
  32.  
  33.  o When loading animations you may find that you have to swap screens (by
  34.    pressing LAmiga+M) to view them.  Some animations are very large and 
  35.    require more than 8mb's of ram.

  64. INTRODUCTION
  65. ------------

  67. AWeb is a World Wide Web browser for the Amiga computer.
  68.  
  69. It offers the following features:
  70.  
  71.  o AWeb can use a wide range of TCP-stacks: AmiTCP/IP, I-Net225, AS-225
  72.    or compatible. Without TCP stack running, you can still view local files.
  73.  
  74.  o AWeb uses extensive internal multitasking, which leads to total
  75.    asynchroneous and parallel network access. Images are starting to load
  76.    while the document is still loading. It is possible to follow a link
  77.    while the previous document is still loading. A separate network status
  78.    window shows all pending network and local file accesses. All network
  79.    accesses can be interrupted immediately.

  81.  o The HTML-3.2 standard is fully supported.
  82.    For buggy pages not conforming to the standard, AWeb offers a
  83.    compatibility mode.
  84.  
  85.  o AWeb supports the use of proxies for HTTP, FTP, Gopher and Telnet.
  86.    Because some proxies can't handle forms or other special cases, the use
  87.    of proxies can be temporarily disabled from the menu.

  89.  o The HTTP and Gopher protocols are supported internally. By using
  90.    external programs, FTP, Mailto, Telnet and News can be used too.
  91.    HTTP user authorization is supported.
  92.  
  93.  o AWeb lets you load all images, delay all image loading, or load only
  94.    clickable maps and delay other images. For delayed images, the ALT text
  95.    is taken into account. Transparent GIFs are supported. The 24-bit picture
  96.    datatype (picturedtV43) is supported.

  98.  o To improve network speed, host names and network addresses are cached
  99.    so addresses are looked up only once during a session.
  100.  
  101.  o AWeb can open it's windows on the default public screen, on a named
  102.    public screen or open its own screen.

  104.  o AWeb has a hierarchical hotlist, with options to group entries.
  105.    In extension to its own hotlist, AWeb can read other hotlists, like
  106.    those of AMosaic and early IBrowse betas.

  108.  o An advanced settings requester is integrated in the program.

  110.  o AWeb has an ARexx interface, and a unique and powerful shell command
  111.    interface.

  114. This DEMO version cannot access the net. You can view local files only.

  160. Before you start AWeb, make sure you double-click the "MakeAssign"
  161. icon first. It makes the necessary assigns that AWeb needs to find
  162. the ClassAct classes.
